Using VOSviewer to analyze a knowledge map of 414 high-quality Chinese and foreign language literature on rural revitalization and e-commerce platforms from 2018 to 2023, a visual analysis of publication trends and trajectories was conducted in terms of keyword co-occurrence and research content. The results show that the number of journal articles in the field of rural revitalization and e-commerce platforms from 2018 to 2023 exhibits a development trend of a reverse U-shape. Qualitative research methods such as case studies and interviews dominate the research content, and future research will focus on digitization, modernization, and sustainable development. Based on the analysis of the research, the direction for e-commerce platforms to sustainably support rural revitalization in the new era is provided.
