Taking 1995 articles on urban-rural income gap in the Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index(CSSCI) journals database from 1998 to 2021 as the research object,based on the analysis of author, institution, keywords, clustering, timeline and keyword bursts, CiteSpace is used to analyze the current situation and trend of urban-rural income gap research. The study found that the current research focuses on income gap, urbanization, urban-rural gap, and income distribution. Hot keywords include new urbanization, rural revitalization, inclusive finance and digital economy. Although these keywords appeared late, their strengths are relatively strong and are the research hotspots. These keywords are main trends of the current urban-rural income gap. By combining keywords, clustering and emergence charts, the research frontiers of future urban-rural income gap can be analyzed.
