Abstract:Taking the hotel industry in Hunan Province as the research object,an empirical study on the impact of COVID-19 on the hotel industry in Hunan Province is conducted by means of questionnaire survey, pre-post comparison and paired sample T-test. It is found that hotels located in the suburbs were less affected by COVID-19 than urban hotels, independent hotels were less affected than chain hotels, business conference hotels were less affected than resort hotels, and large hotels were less affected than small and medium-sized hotels. However, the influence of COVID-19 on hotels in Hunan Province does not show obvious heterogeneity in hotel star level and ownership form. The above findings have important implications for the formulation of precise support policies in the post-epidemic period.
