To enhance the development of the socialist ecological civilization, the Chinese Communist Party and its government has proposed to delineate a nationwide ecological red line. From the perspective of the Marx’s view of nature, this paper discusses, respectively, the significance of this proposal, and how to determine the ecological red line and how to observe the line, exploring the philosophical meaning behind it. Our discussion positively promotes a better understanding and smooth implementation of the Ecological Red Line Program.
