Recent years, Shanxi is experiencing the key period of development transition. The development of the equipment manufacturing industry has important meaning to help Shanxi get out of the "coal dependence″ and promote Shanxi changing the style of economic growth. This article starts from the development of the equipment manufacturing industry in Shanxi province and consider that it has many questions, such as low production concentration, independent innovation ability weak, though it develops steadily at the same time. Finally it puts forward the relevant policy based on the questions.
