In order to examine the role of the digital economy in promoting green development at the national level, and to clarify the temporal and geographical patterns and differences in this role, based on the panel data of 31 provinces （due to the lack of data, the statistical data mentioned here do not include the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Macao Special Administrative Region and Taiwan Province）in our country from 2013 to 2020, Topsis method and Super-SBM model to measure the digital economy and green development of our country were used, and the panel measurement model was constructed, an empirical analysis on the impact of digital economy on green development was conducted. The findings are as follows.The level of digital economy and green development efficiency in China are on the rise.Digital economy is promoting regional green development and becoming the main driving force of regional green transformation.There are regional differences in the promotion effect of digital economy on green development. Digital economy brings more “Green dividend” to the eastern region than other regions.
