While COVID-19 has had a huge impact on tourism, it has also brought development opportunities. The relevant literature on tourism industry under the epidemic in the Chinese Academic Journals of CNKI is taken as the database, the analysis of the research hot spots and development trends of the epidemic on tourism is conducted by adopting the CiteSpace visualization tool. According to the research results, it indicates that the cooperation relationship between authors in the research field is not close. The summary of the research hot spots is the impact of COVID-19 on tourism and potential tourists' consumption behavior, and the strategic research on the various participants in the tourism industry to cope with the impact of COVID-19; as well as the research and development trend generated by the new opportunities, new directions and new problems of cultural tourism industry under the influence of COVID-19. Finally, from the perspective of three aspects ,including the response mechanism of the tourism industry to COVID-9, the cultivation of high-quality talents, and the transformation of the cultural tourism industry, the reference can be provided for future research on the sustainable development of tourism.
