Based on bibliometrics theory, CiteSpace software is used to conduct a visualization study on the total number and characteristics of literatures on domestic SME independent innovation, co-occurrence of research institutions, co-occurrence of authors, keyword clustering and emergence, and the evolution trend of research topics in CNKI database.Through the analysis of 894 valid literatures in the past 20 years, the research topics mainly focus on technological innovation, independent innovation ability, technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises, the impact of independent innovation ability, innovation system construction and so on.Finally, the research trend is summarized and prospected.
